Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) FY25 Capacity Building Program

The purpose of the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants (OVSJG) Capacity Building Program project is to continue the OVSJG’s effort to support local initiatives that improve public safety; enhance the administration of justice; and create systems of care for crime victims, youth, and their families in the District by increasing and strengthening the capacity of community and faith-based organizations to provide the services as mentioned above.

This application is due October 18, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. EST.

This project proposes to achieve the following.

  • Provide targeted technical assistance to community and faith-based organizations selected by OVSJG to strengthen their capacity to manage organizations and administer programs/services that improve public safety; enhance the administration of justice; and create systems of care for crime victims, youth, and their families.

  • To develop a cohort of community and faith-based organizations, selected by OVSJG, where collaboration and partnerships are encouraged, best practices are shared, and evidence-based approaches are learned through monthly training sessions.

Organizations selected to participate in the program will receive:

  • A $25,000 Technical Assistance grant award to be used for organizational capacity building.
  • A consultant will be assigned to your organization to assist you in building its capacity.
  • An organizational review to determine your strengths and areas of improvement.
  • A fiscal review (Agreed Upon Procedure) that will help assess your financial controls and management.
  • A website audit that will examine your website functionality, security, and marketing appeal.
  • A fund development audit to comprehensively assess the status of your current fundraising efforts.
